LOOKBOOK : River Island A/W 2011

Looks like polka dots, the 70's and Dalmation prints are in at River Island for A/W.
It was quite a colorful mix with the Jil Sander inspired color trend heading into A/W for another round. (Can I just point out how delighted I am that I didn't see one fruit related clothing item or jewelry on the catwalks - I KNEW it was a trend that would die a painful death and it has!) The colors for this season are a tad darker and more intense but still quite bright and jewel toned.
I love bell sleeves. I have done ever since I bought that Primark Bell sleeve top a few months ago. I just love how effortlessly cool it is and how even though it is literally just a blouse, it still looks chic and on trend.
I want this. I have been looking for the perfect leopard print coat. It's like finding the perfect denim shorts - it takes time and dedication. It doesn't happen overnight. I wont wear it unless it's perfect and this, is perfection. I know from experience though that those coats do not button, belt or tie up in any way - which means you have a two month window to wear them before you get cold - really really cold.
Skirts were midi and maxi and in a variety of bright colors - while pencil skirts are in for next season, I think I will be sticking to my maxi and pleated mid lengths - so much more flattering!
The animal print shoe seems to be doing the high street rounds at the moment with this being River Islands contribution to the trend. Topshop and Kurt Geiger have already unveiled there and Zara have constantly featured some form of animal print on shoe for several seasons now.
