J. Cole has big plans for 2020.
During his Friday performance at the Day N Vegas festival, Dreamville rapper presented a satirical campaign ad that sparked his upcoming and forthcoming sixth studio album. The video began with footage of police, protesters and lawmakers, before cutting to Cole's videos and photos overlaid with an American flag.
“Looks like the shit is all fucked up. The country needs a hero to turn to in these turbulent times. Jermaine Cole is this hero, ”says the narrator. “He is a man whose humility has no limits. A man whose pen is so potent, every word of his verses costs $ 2,000. We need someone with big ideas and bold solutions. A diplomacy expert. A candidate who can heal the interrelationship. ” generational war…. There is only one answer, a true unifier to heal the country. Make your voice heard. Vote 'The Fall Off' in 2020. ”said the narrator.
The Fall Off is expected to be a follow-up to Cole's 2018 KOD album, which ends with the track “1985 (Introduction to 'The Fall Off')”. The rapper is teasing the project for a minute and apparently started working on it well before the release of KOD. During a 2018 interview with Angie Martinez, Cole revealed that the 2016 tracks “False Prophets” and “everyone dies” were intended for The Fall Off.
